Friends of LA River Cleanup and Frogtown Artwalk

Paul Redmond invites you to the FoLAR annual cleanup and Frogtown Artwalk this Saturday, May 9, 2009 until noon. Come as early as 7:30 am to help clean up.

It's the 20th anniversary of the Friends of the Los Angeles River (FoLAR) Annual River Clean Up. Blake Lofts is proud to be the new clean-up site at 1839 Blake Ave. along a stretch with a natural river bed and lots of beautiful trees and birds.

Every effort is being made to make this a green event. Bring your own reusable water bottles, work gloves, sturdy shoes and clothes you can get dirty. Don't forget sun-block and a hat. Water, snacks and hand sanitizer will be provided.

The Green Committee from Silver Lake will be on site informing the public on green issues along with the giant plastic bag ball from Earth Day. Interactive art projects utilizing the trash treasures found in the river, fun for the whole family, music, raffles and gift bags.
